Thanda Gumede Trio (vocals, piano & bass)

He’s performed at Buckingham Palace, the BBC Proms, and at the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s birthday party. Thanda (a Zulu name for ‘love one another’) boasts a heartfelt baritone-to-falsetto voice that is a thing of beauty.

Performing with pianist Tom Harris and Upright bassist Fergus Quil, expect jazz, neo-soul and gospel to converge for a remarkable experience, as he draws on his dual Zulu and Xhosa heritage, in the Grade II listed venue.

“Thandanani Gumede sang in a heart-felt, near-falsetto voice that went straight to the heart. The hush in the audience was palpable.”
